The Internet was not created for children, and I see no reason to hand it to them now

Making Peace
By Taleya

This is the final goodbye.

You're gone now, I know.  What's left is...what I saw...it's something else. Something dark and evil, it twisted your memory, corrupted it.  Maybe that's why I took so long to come back here.

Your life for mine. Somehow it doesn't seem fair. It's not right, it's wrong it feels wrong, like one of those childrens puzzles, carved wood jammed together wrong, hammered by a small fist to fit where it shouldn't, a twisted image, fractal puzzle, shattered mirror mocking reality with its bright sliver shards.

It feels cold in here. Are you cold? Are you watching? I can feel you here, but it shouldn't be this cold. You were never this cold.

Look at me. I'm talking to rocks.

I wonder if you're there - in the northern skies?  I wish I could see.  I'm a Queen now - look at me, huh? Ruler of a foreign land. Feels weird to feel solid earth under my feet, not to rock with the gentle waves, smell the tang of dead fish and feel sun-warmed wood under my skin.

I gave up the sea...I guess there was enough salt from my tears to wash away that life...

Look at me. Maudlin isn't what you would have wanted, right?  Sunshine and happiness, bad cooking and even worse jokes were your forte.

So I won't. I'll smile and wave and pretend it's all right, because that's the way you would have liked to have seen it. No tears, I'll save them for here, the proper place for them.

I'd better go.  Things to do, skulls to bash...you know the story.  I'll walk outside and act happy and tough and like I'm control of myself.

But sometimes...

When I need to...

I'll come back.
